SEBI Grade A Exam Pattern and Syllabus

The SEBI Grade A exam consists of 3 phases.

These are listed below:

  • Phase I (on-line mode, qualifying examination for 200 marks)

  • Phase II (on-line mode examination consisting of three papers of 100 marks each – total 300 marks)

  • Phase III (Interview)

SEBI Grade A Phase I Exam

Pattern

Duration: 2 hours
Mode: Online
Age Limit: 30 Years (Relaxation is there)

  • Candidates have to secure at least 40% cut-off marks in each test separately.
  • Candidates 10 times the declared vacancies shall be shortlisted for Phase II.

SEBI Grade A Phase II Exam

Pattern

The SEBI Grade A exam has 3 papers each for 100 marks. Each stream will be tested on different papers except the Paper-II of Phase II, which is the English writing skills paper.

Below is the format for Phase II:

A. General Stream
  1. Paper I: Securities Market- 100 marks- 40 minutes
  2. Paper II: English (Writing Skills)- 100 marks-60 minutes
  3. Paper III: Economic & Social Issues and Finance & Management -100 marks – 40 minutes

B. Legal/Information Technology/Engineering Stream

  1. Paper I: Financial sector- 100 marks- 40 minutes
  2. Paper II: English (Writing Skills)- 100 marks-60 minutes
  3. Paper III: Specialized subject related to stream -100 marks – 40 minutes

Note:-

  • Candidates 3 times the number of declared vacancies shall be shortlisted for the Interview.
  • Candidates, who secure minimum 40% marks separately in each Paper, will be shortlisted for Phase III of the recruitment process.

Interview:

  • Only the shortlisted candidates will be called for interview. Application fee shall not be refunded to the candidates not shortlisted for the interview.
  • Candidate may opt for interview either in Hindi or English.
  • Weightage of marks obtained in Phase II will be 85%, while marks obtained in interview shall be given a weightage of 15%.
