After Pattern change, Staff Selection Commission of India conducts SSC CGL Exam in two stages now:
Tier-1 & Tier-2 exam.
Tier-I & Tier-II exam are conducted online,
Let’s have a look at the exam pattern for all these stages of SSC CGL Recruitment process:
1) Tier 1:
SSC CGL Tier-1 is an online Exam comprising of 4 sections. It is a 100 questions paper and with maximum marks of 200. The entire exam is needed to be completed in a time span of 60 minutes. For every right answer 2 marks are given for every wrong answer 0.5 marks are deducted. There is no sectional cut off and no sectional timing. You can jump from one section to others. No point will be deducted if the question is left blank or unattempted a candidate.

Candidates who clear SSC CGL cut off for Tier-1 are eligible to appear for the Tier II exam and Tier 1 is now Qualifying in nature, It means its marks will not be added in Tier 2 Marks.
2) Tier 2:
SSC CGL Tier-2 exam will be conducted in 3 phases- Paper 1, Paper 2, and Paper 3. Paper I (Compulsory for all posts), Paper II for candidates who apply for the posts of Junior Statistical Officer (JSO) in the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation and Paper III for candidates who apply for the posts of Assistant Audit Officer/ Assistant Accounts Officer.
